Our Mission
Founded in 2014, the High Five Academy philosophy starts with the belief that we are all one and work together as one for the good of all. We believe competition and comparison create division and separation between each other and promote limited beliefs of self doubt and unworthiness.
Therefore, our educational approach eliminates such comparisons between students and focuses on the positive, emotional and intellectual growth of each student.
Our goal is to bring forth generations of believers and doers. Students who, believe in themselves first, are excited to make mistakes, and are eager to face challenges; students who are fearless rather than fearful.
The five core principles of High Five Academy are:
- BELIEF
- KNOWLEDGE
- INQUISITION
- REFLECTION
- CITIZENSHIP
We believe strongly in the philosophy of inquiry based learning. It is essential that children ask questions and think outside of the box. In order to do this, it is crucial they have a strong educational foundation. They need to acquire a broad knowledge base in order to apply and extend it to inquiry. With limited knowledge there will be limited awareness and inquiry.
In addition, a cornerstone of High Five Academy education is its community involvement with Amica Retirement Home. We believe the growth of citizenship adds the dimension necessary in today’s education of global citizens and future leaders. When our students graduate, this perspective becomes an important legacy from their time at High Five Academy.
